Start with the label in front of you

Each newly acquired plant is an opportunity to collect reliable information. Read its name and visible properties before moving it into a dense display. If a request later uses the same wording, you will know where to begin. This avoids confusing a similar-looking plant with the one a customer needs and keeps a growing collection from becoming anonymous green décor.

Use a consistent home for plants you are still learning. A temporary shelf, a clear corner, or a row organized by your own naming rule makes inspection faster. The compendium is best used as a companion to this real arrangement, not as a substitute for the game’s current tooltips and prompts.

Make watering a decision, not a reflex

Watering is a visible part of care, but more water is not automatically better care. Patch 1.0.3 changed water-related balance by reducing requirements when more plants are present and increasing the effect of Reduced Watering. That dated change shows why a fixed number from an older guide is fragile. The current plant state should decide the action.

Build one pass into your routine: inspect the plants that need attention, water the indicated candidates, then continue with customers or layout. This is calmer than repeatedly circling the room and makes it easier to notice if a plant is not responding as expected. Understand attributes as search clues

Attributes help make a large plant collection searchable. They may appear in requests, plant descriptions, or progression context, so record their wording exactly when you encounter them. Exact text is more useful than a guess based on leaf shape. If a plant seems to fit a request, compare the visible attribute rather than relying on a broad category like “trailing” or “green.”

The official 1.0.3 notes mention a correction involving the Trailing attribute before reputation level 4. That gives a concrete boundary: its unlock order was important enough to patch. It does not license a complete unlock chart that the current game has not displayed. Keep the live interface as the source of truth for your save.

Treat variegation carefully

The Steam page includes variegation among Leafy Corner’s plant features. That is enough to recognize it as part of the base game, but it does not establish a universal rarity table, a selling-price formula, or a guaranteed way to produce a particular result. If your plant has a visibly marked variation, record what the interface calls it and how it affected your immediate choice.

Community reports can help you find a question to test, especially when they point out an overlooked menu or display field. They should remain clearly separate from official identity and patch notes. A good personal record says what you saw, when you saw it, and what the game itself showed—not what a screenshot seemed to promise.

Arrange the collection for care and sales

Put plants that you inspect frequently where your route naturally passes. Keep sale candidates distinct from plants you are still monitoring, and leave space to compare a request candidate with its details.
